Discover January's Bible Lessons at Sonrise Kids!

Welcome, Parents of Sonrise Kid's Ministry! As we step into a new year, we're excited to share the upcoming lessons that will guide our children through meaningful biblical stories and teachings. Each week, our journey through the scriptures will offer the kids valuable insights into God's word and His love for them.

What are we learning about?

Jan. 5: The Ten Commandments 

This lesson will teach kids that God gives us rules because He loves us, and we can show God we love Him by obeying His rules.

Jan. 12: Joshua and the Jordan River 

Crossing the Jordan River (Joshua 3-4). Prior to entering the promised land, Joshua and the people of Israel had to cross the mighty Jordan River! Miraculously, God held back the waters of the Jordan river so that the people could pass through on dry land.

Jan. 19: Gideon the Judge

 Judges 6, where we meet Gideon and the 300 who fought the Midianites. God delivered victory. When Gideon doubted, he put out a fleece to see if he correctly heard from God. He did, and God encouraged him to take a stand and rally the men of Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali.

Jan. 26: Samuel

 Heartbroken at her inability to have children, Hannah asks the Lord to bless her with a child. In his grace, God answers Hannah’s prayer, and she names her miraculous child Samuel.

January Memory Verse (PreK and K/1st) 

"Loving (hands over heart) God (point to the sky) Means Keeping (start with arms extended and then pull them in close) His Commandments (touch fingers to mouth and then move them outward)" - 1 John 5:3a

As we explore these stories, we hope to instill in our children the values and teachings that are cornerstone to our faith. We invite you, as parents, to engage with your children about these lessons at home, fostering a family environment where faith and learning go hand in hand.

Also, remember to pick up our coloring book of the Seven Rhythms from the kid's check-in area, a fun and interactive way to reinforce these stories and values. Join us on this spiritual adventure—your support and involvement are invaluable to nurturing your child's growth in God's love.
